Real Madrid want Arsenal's Koscielny as Varane mentor

Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez is ready to move for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.

Koscielny is rated highly by Benitez and was linked with Real upon the Spaniard's appointment earlier this month.

France Football says the situation is now intensifying, with Sergio Ramos demanding a transfer from Real this week.

Benitez sees France international Koscielny as an ideal replacement and recommended his signing to Real president Florentino Perez.

Koscielny would arrive to help mentor fellow Frenchman Raphael Varane, who is expected to be given an extended chance to establish his first team credentials next season.
