Real Madrid are eyeing Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte as coach Zinedine Zidane seeks a new centre-half signing.
Zidane has made it clear to Real president Florentino Perez the need for a new defensive addition this summer after losing Pepe to Besiktas.
A wide net has already been cast, with Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng having been in contact.
However, Don Balon says Laporte has also been discussed, with Real knowing he could be on the move as Manchester City and Barcelona are also keen.
Zidane has left negotiations to Florentino, but has made it clear he wants a new centre-half added to his squad before the new season kicks off.
