Reports out of Italy suggest that Real Madrid were looking at Napoli striker German Denis as a replacement for Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Denis' agent Leo Rodriguez, speaking on Radio Gol, made reference to a Spanish club looking at Denis.

"German is happy at Napoli, so much so that recently when a big Spanish side approached us, we said that Denis has no intention of leaving Naples.

"The club in question simply asked if there was any way we would negotiate, but we said no."
