Real Madrid are pouring all energies into signing Tottenham midfield schemer Luka Modric. Marca says talk of Real moving for Manchester City ace David Silva or Athletic Bilbao's Javi Martinez are wide of the mark, it is Modric who they want.

Real are encouraged in negotiations with Spurs over a fee for Modric, with his price already falling from €40 million to €35 million in recent days.

Contrary to reports, Real have no concerns over the price for the Croatian, who at 27 is now entering his peak years. The personal demands of Modric also still fall well short of the highest paid at Real.
