Raheem Sterling suggests his proposed new deal at Liverpool will soon be complete. The highly talented 20-year old forward is currently on a deal at Anfield which expires in the summer of 2017 but the Merseyside club is determined to tie him down for the future.
13-time England international Sterling has been heavily linked with European champions Real Madrid in recent times, while German giants Bayern Munich and French behemoth Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest, but he has indicated that he will soon be putting ink to paper with the club he joined as a 15-year old in 2010.
"We're working on it and hopefully it will be sorted soon," he told the Liverpool Echo.
Sterling netted the second goal in Sunday's 2-0 win at Southampton which lifted the Reds to sixth on the Premier League table and he believes things will continue to improve as they chase a spot in the Champions League.
"We knew we were top four material from the start of the season," he added.
"Credit to the boys, we just keep to need keep performing and keep fighting and then we'll definitely get to where we want to be."
