Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has paid tribute to departing coach Jose Mourinho.

Morata was given his first team breakthrough by Mourinho.

"I am extremely grateful to Mourinho. He's the coach who gave me the opportunity at Real Madrid, and I wish him luck.

"I believe he would have liked to have left the club in a happier way."
