Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain admits he's chasing the Spanish Golden Boot.
For the 5-1 win over Tenerife, Higuain took his league tally for the season to 16 by netting Madrid's opening two goals, before Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo (penalty) and Raul completed the scoring.
"I'm very happy because I'm closer to being the Pichichi (leading scorer) in La Liga. The pity was the one that hit the crossbar because I was looking at a hat-trick." said Higuain, who is just a goal behind Barcelona's Lionel Messi and David Villa of Valencia in the scoring charts.
Higuain also played a key role in Madrid's third goal scored by Kaka, which came 60 seconds after Tenerife had pulled a controversial goal back just after half-time to make the score 2-1.
"To make it 3-1 so quickly killed them. Tenerife also missed many chances," added Higuain, who also warned his side against getting too carried away with their impressive form.
"We need to be calm and continue in this way. Things go from good to bad very easily."
