Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema says he can handle the jeers from his own fans. Benzema was on the mark for Real in their Champions League win over Basel.
"It wasn't a kind of revenge. I am at a big club and there is always a lot expected of me. I am a Real Madrid striker and that means I have to score in every game.
"That's the way it is. I was booed last season. Iker Casillas has been booed. All of the great players who have played for Madrid have been booed: Ronaldo, Zidane... For me it's not a problem.
"I will continue to work hard to change the situation. We'll talk about what I've won when my career is over. I play for a huge club. I know there is a lot of expectation. I've even been booed in the Stade de France. I don't let it get to me. I just concentrate on playing; I love football and I'm at the best club in the world."
