Real Madrid star Xabi Alonso believes Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes would be idolised if he played in Spain.
Xabi says a shirt he swapped with Scholes still has pride of place in his trophy room.
"I have his shirt still at home," he said. "We agreed to swap.
"When I was playing for Liverpool, Scholes was one of the players that I greatly appreciated. Perhaps in England he is not as appreciated as he should.
"In Spain he would probably would be more appreciated, where midfielders like him are seen as the ideal type.
"He has many fans in Spain, who admire him greatly."
