Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has slapped himself with a media gag for the rest of the season.

Ronaldo was AGAIN flat for their Champions League defeat to Schalke last night. Real limped into the quarterfinals on aggregate.

The former Manchester United star struck in the 3-4 defeat, making him the game's all-time leading goalscorer in European competition.

But in the mixed zone last night, Ronaldo told reporters: "I wont talk again until the end of the season."

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti defended Ronaldo after the defeat.

"He scored two very important goals but the rest were not at his level."
