Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't expect former Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney to join him at Real Madrid. Reports earlier this week suggested the Spanish giants were lining up a double swoop for the England striker Rooney and his national team boss Fabio Capello.
However, Ronaldo - who moved to the Bernabeu last summer - feels his former Red Devils team-mate will remain in Old Trafford.
He told the News of the World: "I am still friends with Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic at Manchester United.
"I think Rooney is very happy in Manchester and even if Real Madrid tried to sign him, I don't think he would want to join me here."
