Real Madrid star Ronaldo convinces Miami authorities to drop charge against fan

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has come to the rescue of a Miami-based fan.

Miami authorities have dropped one of the charges against young Ronald Gjoka after he invaded the pitch earlier this year to hug Ronaldo during a Real tour game.

The former Manchester United star had written to the Miami DA urging them to drop the trespassing charges.

"I just wanted to meet him to thank him for helping me, it won't happen again", Gjoka said repeatedly.

"I'm hopeful and positive things will work out well. I hope that the positive reactions from everyone, including Cristiano Ronaldo, will influence the judge's opinion."

The charge of public disorder has been dropped, but the charge for trespassing is still pending, which could cost Gjoka his residency in the United States. The 20 year-old Albanian is currently living on a student visa.
