Real Madrid star Bale: Wales have belief ahead of Euro2016 qualifiers

Gareth Bale was in a positive mindframe after guiding Wales to a 3-1 friendly win over Iceland on Wednesday night.

The Real Madrid winger starred for the Dragons with an assist for James Collin's opener, a hand in Sam Vokes' go-ahead goal and a fine individual effort for his country's third as they tuned up nicely for the upcoming Euro2016 qualifiers.

Wales are up against Bosnia & Herzegovina, Belgium, Israel, Cyprus and Andorra in Group B of qualifying and Bale feels they are well-positioned following tonight's triumph.

"Obviously it was an important game for us that we had tonight and the next friendly to prepare for the qualifying campaign," he told Sky Sports.

"I think we made good work of it."

Bale added: "I always said that it's an honour to play for my country and if I'm fit I'll come and play.

"I enjoyed it. I enjoyed being around the boys so it's nice to be here.

"We're a squad that's been together for a while now and hopefully we can start delivering a bit more. I think the more games we play together, the more we believe."
