Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is making a new play for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. The Sunday Express says Perez sees Wenger as the man to replace Jose Mourinho if he leaves at the end of the season.
Wenger has admitted that he and the Gunners board will sit down and assess what has so far been an under-performing Emirates season in the summer.
While bullish about confounding his critics and looking forward to strengthening his squad in the January transfer window, Wenger, who has been in charge at Arsenal for 16 years, will analyse in greater detail the club's current standing in the summer. Also on his agenda could be a move to manage one of the greatest clubs in the world - Real Madrid.
