Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas is prepared to be replaced in the Spain team by Manchester United's David De Gea.
De Gea made his competitive debut for Spain last week against Luxembourg.
Casillas said: "It's going to be a positive transition. I'm not immortal and everyone has to know when to stop playing for the national team. Right now I feel good and with the strength to help my country to get to the European Championship in France and afterwards to try to win it, although it's not going to be easy because there are a lot of teams who are in strong shape.
"I have a great relationship with Del Bosque. I'm not put out about not having played against Luxembourg. It's part of life, because I won't be able to play football forever. De Gea or Casilla are part of the present and the future ahead."
