Cristiano Ronaldo says he is looking forward to kicking off his Real Madrid career.

The departing Manchester United star declared from Madeira: "I want to start with much force to show my football and to thank Real Madrid what they have done for me. I will be proud to play with Kaka, but also with Raul, Guti and (Iker) Casillas.

"My medical went perfectly.

"There are only minor matters that need to be settled. Once done, I can focus on my preseason. For now, I will take a few more days off here and enjoy my holidays.

"Winning titles is the challenge. Madrid is used to winning like Manchester United. I am very excited and I am sure that everything will work out."

Asked which number he will wear at Real, Ronaldo admitted: "I don't yet know."
