Real Madrid seek to trump Man Utd with early Silva deal

Real Madrid are determined to win the transfer scramble for Valencia winger David Silva. Marca says the Spain international is Real's No1 transfer target ahead of the summer market - though, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is also keen.

Real president Florentino Perez wants to tie up a deal for Silva before the World Cup kicks off and is counting on an offer of €25 million being enough to convince Valencia to sell.
