Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is determined to prise Davinson Sanchez away from Ajax.
Diario Gol says Real scouts have delivered Perez glowing reports on the Colombia international and the president is ready to bid for the youngster.
Perez, after allowing James Rodriguez to leave for Bayern Munich, instructed his scouts to find the 'nex big thing' out of South America and Sanchez has been put forward.
The defender has also been linked with Barcelona this summer, though their deal for Palmeiras' Yerry Mina appears to have shut the door on a move for Sanchez.
Perez could move to sign the youngster this summer, or negotiate an option with Ajax.
Real scouts insist Sanchez is the best defensive talent to emerge from Colombia over the last decade.
