Sami Khedira has revealed that Real Madrid turned down a £33.9million offer from Manchester United for his services.
Madrid brought in Gareth Bale from Tottenham for £85.3m before selling Mesut Ozil to Arsenal for £42.5m but did not allow 26-year old German midfielder Khedira to join United on deadline day.
"The club turned down the offer and that was it," said Khedira.
"We didn't really have the chance to discuss it. I had a longer chat with Carlo Ancelotti a few weeks ago and it was relatively clear to me that I'd stay at Real."
