Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo was delighted with his brace in their Champions League win over APOEL.

Last night was Ronaldo's first appearance since being sent off in the Supercopa de Espana.

Ronaldo declared: "I am delighted to play again, this is a different competition and to start playing and again scoring goals was very important for me, I contributed to the victory and I feel good for it.

"It was a game that we needed to win, we played at home and we wanted to start the Champions League well, we knew we were going to face a very defensive team, we could have scored more goals, but in the end we got a good result.

"So there it is."
