PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic offered to take a huge pay-cut to sign for Real Madrid in the summer.
Punto Pelota says Ibrahimovic made it clear he was willing to sign for Real for €10 million-a-year, which was €4 million-a-year less than his PSG wages.
However, Real management turned down the Swede, despite coach Carlo Ancelotti's concerns about their attacking options.
Real chiefs decided Ibrahimovic was too old to commit to such an outlay.
