Real Madrid turned down the chance to sign Juventus star Paul Pogba as a 16 year-old, it has been revealed.
Pogba had just signed for Manchester United, but was unhappy in England and keen to return to the continent.
After the 2010 U17 European Championships, the midfielder's agent, Mino Raiola, made contact with Real to offer the youngster, says El Confidencial.
Real were keen, but soon shut the door on Raiola over their wage demands. Pogba, at 16, was insisting on €1.5 million-a-year.
