Chelsea are closing in on Real Madrid's want-away winger Robinho.

Sport says Real president Ramon Calderon and sports director Pedja Mijatovic have both given their approval for the move to go ahead and only the nod of coach Bernd Schuster is now needed.

After the capture of Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, Schuster is now ready to give the green light to Robinho's departure to Chelsea, where he will more than double his current Real wages.

Robinho is desperate to get away from Real after being blocked from taking part in Brazil's Olympics campaign and also being knocked back over demands for a new contract.
