High-ranking Real Madrid scouts were at the El Madrigal last night to see Napoli star Edinson Cavani in action. The Uruguay international is emerging as a top target for Real coach Jose Mourinho, who has been encouraged by Cavani admitting he'd like to play in Spain.

Cavani didn't disappoint Real's scouts with a starring performance in their 2-0 win over Champions League opponents Villarreal.

Tuttosport says Real are willing to pay €50 million to land the centre-forward, with a contract being drawn up worth €5 million-a-year.
