Real Madrid push Spurs to make Bale available in Higuain talks

Real Madrid hope to use Tottenham's interest in Gonzalo Higuain to set up a deal for Gareth Bale.

The People says sources in Spain say the Real Madrid and Argentina striker has told Bernabeu officials he wants to join a club in England ahead of next season, and has been given permission to start negotiating a move.

Spurs, who have an excellent relationship with Real after selling them Luka Modric, are likely to ask whether Higuain could be included in any deal taking Bale in the other direction this summer.

However, Tottenham want to hang on to Bale and the player is happy to give Spurs another season, particularly if they qualify for the Champions League.
