Real Madrid president Florentino Perez admits Bayern Munich signing Xabi Alonso asked to leave.
Xabi was sold to Bayern in the final days of the summer market.
Perez said: "I have a very good relationship with Alonso. He came to see us to urge us to let him leave. He felt it was the best solution for both him and the club.
"We have an excellent relationship and we granted his wish. We are well stocked in the position with Kroos and Illarramendi; Xabi is nearing the end of his career and that's how he wants to approach it."
