Real Madrid president Perez will go to £85 MILLION for Tottenham star Bale

Real Madrid are willing to go to an amazing £85 MILLION to land Tottenham star Gareth Bale. The Sunday Times says Real are ready to break the world transfer record with an audacious £85m swoop for Bale, as well as splashing out £40m on Luis Suarez. Combining the two Premier League stars with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema would then give Madrid the world's first quarter-billion-pound forward line.

Real president Florentino Perez is happy to spend big as a response to Barcelona's deal for Neymar.

The bids for Bale and Suarez, in an election year, are a repeat of Perez's first days of his second term in charge when he signed Kaka and then Cristiano Ronaldo for world-record transfer fees of £56m and £80m, before adding Benzema for a further £35m.
