Real Madrid president Perez sees best chance of prising Gerrard from Liverpool

Real Madrid are monitoring Steven Gerrard's situation at Liverpool.

Marca says Real president Florentino Perez would love to bring Stevie G to Madrid in 2011 and sees the demise of Liverpool as the last chance he has of landing the England midfielder.

Liverpool have no chance of qualifying for the Champions League this season and Gerrard is now facing the prospect of battling against relegation.

Perez and coach Jose Mourinho are watching developments closely and will count on Liverpool not being difficult should Gerrard ask for a move away.

Real would hope to do business for less than £15 million in June.
