Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says he was prepared to spend big on Neymar last summer.
Real were blocked from negotiating for Neymar after Barcelona had agreed a pre-contract deal with Santos for the exciting Brazilian talent.
If Santos had broken their agreement, Barca would've been due a massive penalty clause.
"I do not honestly know what he (Neymar) cost Barcelona, but I was willing to pay for him at the level of the top players," said Perez.
