Real Madrid president Perez and Zidane plot shock Umtiti raid

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is considering a shock move for Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti.

Perez sees Umtiti as a bargain signing thanks to his €60m buyout clause.

Don Balon says the Real president is happy to make Umtiti his 'new Luis Figo' - with the deal being much smoother thanks to the buyout clause. Perez, like PSG and Neymar, won't have to deal with Barca and instead will simply be required to meet the Frenchman's escape option.

Perez and Real coach Zinedine Zidane recognise Umtiti has the potential to be the world's best defender and feel he can be tempted from Barca.

For his part, Umtiti has refused to consider new contract talks with Barca, despite their eagerness to reset his buyout clause.
