Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says he won't seek to exploit the profile of Zinedine Zidane in this summer's elections.

Florentino says Zidane is on track to becoming a major powerbroker inside the club.

"It's not a topic to talk about today. There will be an open electoral process in the coming days and that will be the time to talk about what we plan to do. Zidane is a player that all Madrid fans and members carry in their hearts because of the way he played and for his values. He's on track to be a manager and we haven't spoken to him again. He's one of the club's assets."
