Real Madrid president Florentino Perez won't consider appointing a sporting director.
Marca says many directors are hankering after the figure of a traditional sporting director.
But Perez has no interest in such an addition.
Ramón Martínez, the former head of the youth set-up, now acts as an advisor to the president on all matters related to the first team, on which Florentino continues to have the final word on the majority of occasions. At present there seems little chance of an overarching sporting director being brought in, despite the criticism of the lack of joined-up thinking and erratic decision-making at the Bernabéu.
