Real Madrid president Florentino Perez plans to launch a new bid for Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho. The News of the World says Mourinho, who was overlooked for the Barcelona job at the start of last season, is seen as fiercely anti-Barca.
That makes him just ideal for Perez, who is desperate to put an end to the Catalan club's dominance. Mourinho is also seen as the perfect man to get the best out of his Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has made it known he would take the Madrid post if offered.
But Real are keen not to change coaches in mid-season and believe Pellegrini can lift them.
If the team fail to win the European Cup in May, however, and Mourinho's time looks up at Inter, Madrid will make their move.
