Real Madrid president Florentino Perez continues to explore the prospect of replacing Zinedine Zidane next season.
Despite consecutive victories this past week against APOEL and Malaga, Don Balon says Perez retains doubts about Zidane's tactical know-how. Indeed, there is a feeling inside the Real board room that Zidane's abilities fall well short of his predecessor, Rafa Benitez.
As such, Perez is seeking a tactical expert as Real's next coach and while Germany manager Joachim Low has been mentioned, it's emerged the feelers have also been sent out to Antonio Conte.
The Chelsea manager is under pressure at Stamford Bridge, with his future in doubt as he is linked with a return to Italy.
Conte is now emerging as Perez's No1 choice to succeed Zidane should Real finish the season trophyless. Interestingly, the pair are former teammates, having played together for Juventus.
