Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is firming up his interest in Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Denmark international has long been admired by Florentino, who now sees the time is right to move for the playmaker.

El Confidencial says Real intend to bid for Eriksen in January, with Florentino recognising he needs to make some major signings to rescue their flagging campaign.

Real coaching staff believe they can parachute Eriksen into Julen Lopetegui's midfield with little need for adjustment.

However, any move will depend on Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and his willingness to consider offers for the Dane.
