Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has entered a public row with president Florentino Perez over this month's transfer plans.
Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has passed his Real medical and his move is expected to be confirmed this week. However, Zidane was critical of the deal yesterday, insisting Real didn't need a new keeper.
Don Balon says Zidane is angry that Perez has chosen to go over his head and unsettle his goalkeepers by bringing in Kepa. Zidane wanted to go to the end of this season with Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla.
But he now faces having to also manage Kepa's arrival, which is likely to see Casilla leave. This sparked Zidane openly criticising the decision.
For his part, Perez isn't bothered. The president knows Real's support is losing confidence in Zidane and in terms of football politics, he now holds the upper hand. No matter his coach's opinion, Kepa will be added to the Real squad this month.
