Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is making a new play for Santos star Neymar.

Perez is now ruing the decision made at Real some years ago to pass on Neymar after he trialled at Real as a junior player.

El Confidencial says the president is again exploring the prospect of signing the Brazil international, despite Barcelona's apparent pre-contract agreement.

Real legal chiefs are convinced the validity of such of an arrangement can be successfully overturned, so leaving Perez clear to convince Neymar to move to Madrid.

Meanwhile, Neymar's father again dropped a hint of his son's next destination this week: "it is clear that Neymar is not being ignored. We cannot be hypocrites. Neymar has his idols and it is normal to want to succeed where Romario and Ronaldo played. That cannot be denied."
