Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has met with super agent Jorge Mendes this week.

It's emerged that Mendes has attempted to convince Perez to get involved in the race for AS Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Silva is being linked with Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona, while Mendes has also offered him to Real.

Perez isn't keen on the Portugal international, but has urged Mendes not to allow him to move to Barca.

Mendes has insisted he is powerless in such matters, but Diario Gol says if Barca are close to striking a deal the agent will inform Perez, who could then swoop for the midfielder so to prevent him joining their great rivals.
