Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has welcomed Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino's praise for Gareth Bale.
Pochettino, on Friday, opened the door to re-signing the Welshman when revealing the Real star was in regular contact with his backroom staff at Spurs.
Don Balon says Perez is delighted, convinced this opens the door to setting up a deal with Spurs for Harry Kane.
The Real president accepts their attack needs renewal and Kane is under consideration as a prime centre-forward signing. That Pochettino has opened the door to Bale's return offers Perez the opportunity to discuss a swap involving England international Kane.
Nothing will happen next month, but Perez now believes the option is alive and he is ready to pursuit it over the New Year.
"Of course he is a fantastic player," said Pochettino of Bale. "I saw him in Madrid when we played there. He always kept in touch with the people who worked here in the past. I do not have a close relationship with him or the people around him. But you never know what will happen in football."
