Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is delighted for Luka Modric over the Ballon d'Or triumph.

By Modric winning the award, that means a Madrid player has won it in three consecutive years after Cristiano Ronaldo won the trophy in 2016 and 2017.

"We are already focused on winning the Club World Cup," said Perez.

"These players are already part of history and the legend of Madrid.

"Among them is Luka Modric, winner of the Ballon d'Or and The Best, representing the talent and values of Madrid."
