Real Madrid president Florentino furious with Zidane after Real Betis shock

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is furious with coach Zinedine Zidane after their latest setback last night.

Defeat at home to Real Betis leaves Madrid seven points behind LaLiga leaders Barcelona and marks the worst run of home form in over 20 years.

Diario Gol says Perez was fuming at the final whistle, with the focus of his ire being Zidane.

The president now feels shortchanged by the coach after accepting his demands over the summer market, including the sales of Mariano Diaz, Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez.

Zidane's insistence that his squad didn't need high profile additions is also backfiring, with injury and suspension plaguing Real in the early rounds of the season.

Perez squarely lays the blame for their poor start at Zidane's door and his mishandling of transfer policy. And he said as much to fellow directors at the end of last night's shock defeat.
