Real Madrid and Liverpool are on red alert with Dayot Upamecano baulking at new contract talks with RB Leipzig.
The young French defender has attracted an enquiry from Liverpool and is also admired by Real coach Zinedine Zidane.
Don Balon says RBL have attempted to hold new contract talks with Upamecano, but he has so far resisted. RBL's intention has been to insert a €100m buyout clause in his deal.
Real president Florentino Perez has been kept up-to-speed on developments and is considering a January move for the defender.
However, he knows Liverpool are also serious about Upamecano and boast a closer relationship with RBL thanks to their deal for Naby Keita - which has been appreciated by the Germans.
