Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has enjoyed a dig at Barcelona over their swoop for Theo Hernandez.
The former Atletico Madrid fullback was presented to local media on Monday.
Without mentioning Barcelona at any point, the Madrid chief regularly alluded to the fact the Catalan club had battled for Theo and congratulated the player on getting his desired move in the end.
"Other big European clubs also wanted him, but his firmness and conviction honoured him. He wanted to wear this shirt above all others and Madrid will be eternally grateful," Perez said.
In his brief speech at the Santiago Bernabeu, Perez added: "We have a uniquely talented squad and we want it to be even stronger for the challenges we have in the future. United we are unbeatable and no one title is enough for us."
