Real Madrid president Florentino encouraged by PSG as he plots Ronaldo for Neymar swap shock

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is convinced he can bring Neymar back to Spain - and on the cheap.

Florentino has been in regular contact with the father of the PSG star ever since he quit Barcelona in August.

And Don Balon says he is confident of securing a deal for Neymar and in the same move clearing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo off the books.

While Ronaldo and agent Jorge Mendes have spent the year pushing for a pay-rise, Florentino has other ideas and is ready to offer the Portuguese to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in a sensational swap proposal.

Intermediaries have already warned Florentino he will have to include a cash component in the deal - but accepts this must happen given the world record €222m PSG paid for Neymar just a few months ago.

The Real president is convinced such a deal would suit all parties. Al Khelaifi knows Neymar has failed to settle in Paris - and his ultimate transfer target has long been Ronaldo.

At Real, meanwhile, both Florentino and Ronaldo are drifting apart and the player, who will tonight be crowned this year's Ballon d'Or in Paris, would welcome a fresh challenge at PSG in a team built to win the Champions League.

Concrete negotiations for the sensational swap are expected to kickoff early in 2018.
