Real Madrid have issued Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery with an ultimatum. German media sources say Real president Florentino Perez is losing patience with the France midfielder and wants a commitment from the player by the end of next week.

If Ribery fails to assure Perez that he will join Real at the end of the season, the president will order his football department to pursue alternative transfer targets.

Valencia winger David Silva is a prime candidate for Real.
