Real Madrid president Florentino convinced of upper hand in Man Utd Morata fee talks

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is convinced he has Manchester United over a barrel as they thrash out a fee for Alvaro Morata.

Okdiario says United's latest offer - their second - of €75 million was rejected by Florentino this week. The Real supremo is demanding €80 million to sell the centre-forward.

And with both United boss Jose Mourinho and Morata both pushing for a deal to be closed this week, Florentino is convinced he can squeeze the extra €5 million from United vice-chairman exec Ed Woodward before the weekend.

Mourinho wants Morata available for the first day of preseason on July 8, while the striker has no interest in doing the same at Real.

However, Florentino is confident Morata will not down tools should Woodward drag his feet over negotiations in the coming days.

And with time ticking, the pressure is now on Woodward to cough up the final €5 million needed to get the deal over the line.
