Real Madrid president Florentino Perez remains confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will be staying next season.

Despite the persistent doubts, Perez told local radio he was convinced Ronaldo would remain.

"Cristiano has a contract with Madrid," he began. "What we know is that a colleague has said that he is angry and this was published in A Bola.

"I have not talked to him, I do not give it importance, the only thing to do is wait and talk after the Confederations Cup.

"I think Cristiano is going to continue, I've talked to (agent Jorge) Mendes about him. At the moment there is no need to worry about what is due."

Perez continued: "He has never done anything to demand we improve the contract, he has been performing for eight years and he has had an exemplary behavior in every way."
