Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says Dani Carvajal's return is a great symbol of the success of the club's academy.

Carvajal has re-signed for Real this summer from Bayer Leverkusen.

"Your case will become the example for many academy players that the dream can come true. You have earned the right to be here and know better than anyone what it means to defend this badge. It is a great responsibility but also something wonderful because of what it stands for. Welcome home," said Perez.
