Real Madrid president Florentino and Zidane clash over Mbappe bid plans

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and coach Zinedine Zidane are heading for a fresh transfer row.

With Florentino reviving plans to sign AS Monaco whizkid Kylian Mbappe, the dilemma of having to make room for the teen is again rearing its head.

Diario Gol says one from Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale is expected to be sold to clear the way for Mbappe, though Florentino and Zidane disagree over who is dispensable.

Zidane wants shot of Bale, who has failed to win over the Frenchman. The coach believes he has a readymade replacement waiting in the wings in the form of Marco Asensio .

However, Florentino - and his board - would prefer to sell Benzema, who is close to Zizou.

Indeed, the president is prepared to include Benzema in his bid for Mbappe. Real rate the French striker at €70m and would seek to drive down Monaco's asking price, which has ranged between €130-190m.

But such an operation would leave Zidane disappointed, who views Benzema as vital to his playing system.
