Real Madrid president Florentino accepts Modric exit as Liverpool favoured

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez now accepts Luka Modric will leave at the end of this season.

Florentino has been reluctant to lose the veteran, knowing Modric was considering leaving for much of this campaign.

Don Balon says the president has now decided to drop plans of talking the Croatia midfielder out of departing. At 33, Modric feels it's time for a new challenge.

A return to the Premier League is mooted for Modric, with former club Tottenham keen to re-sign him - but they're not alone. Arsenal and Liverpool have also asked about a price for him.

Florentino will seek €60m to sell Modric this summer. And for his part, the midfielder now favours Liverpool, having been won over by their run to the Champions League semis this season.
